After you've gone to the trouble of preparing a Business Plan, you should then review the performance of the business on a regular basis - monthly, or at the very least on a quarterly basis. Periodic financial accounts should be compared back to Budgets and Cashflow Forecasts and the Check List contained in the Business Plan should be checked regularly to ensure that items which are identified as being necessary for the future success of the business have been attended to.
