The Sustainability Loan Program is provided under the Primary Industry Productivity Enhancement Scheme.
The objective of this scheme is to:
- strengthen the economy of Queensland regions
- facilitate the development of sustainable primary production in Queensland.
The purpose of assistance under this program is to provide concessional loans to primary producers to implement systems and management practices that enhance sustainable primary production in Queensland by:
- increasing productivity and long term viability;
- avoiding or minimising adverse impacts on the natural resource base and other ecosystems affected by the primary production activity for which the assistance is received;
- adopting systems and practices to mitigate the effects of climate, drought and market risks.
