The Queensland government's natural disaster assistance scheme provides concessional loans of up to $250,000 to small business owners whose buildings, plant and equipment or stock have been significantly damaged by a declared natural disaster and who are unable to obtain commercial finance, but nevertheless have sound prospects of long term viability..
However, assistance under this scheme is not intended to compensate for loss of income suffered as a result of the eligible natural disaster.
