SME Exporter Funding

Thousands of SMEs are eligible to apply for the Export Market Development Grant which opens for new applications from 1 July 2022.

Whilst this grant is known as the “Export Market Development Grant” it also applies to Australian businesses that are supplying services to overseas residents who are visiting Australia.

Grants of up to $770,000 per applicant are available over eight financial years for promotional activities to market eligible products in foreign countries or training activities to develop skills in export marketing.

Applicants can operate their businesses in any type of entity and have an annual turnover of less than $20M and be an exporter or proposing to export or are an Australian business offering services to overseas residents.

Many of the applicants will require assistance from their accountants to prepare the grant application and subsequently to assist in the preparation of the annual report for submission to Austrade.
