The challenge is to better serve the client, whether the client is a small/medium enterprise (SME), the CEO of a public company, the ratepayers of a City Council, members and supporters of a large sporting organisation or the members of a church. Each of these stakeholders has a different expectation of the services to be supplied to them by an accountant. The accountant's role is to make a worthwhile contribution to whoever the current stakeholders are and not to be a mere scribe recording past events and acting as, in effect, a tax collector.
