Business Advisory Services Update

Unfortunately, we were unable to present our scheduled webinar “Driving Business Growth” yesterday. Our apologies to the people who registered. We are presenting this webinar today at 12pm AEST. There’s still time to register – click here.

In this webinar, we will dig into the key issue confronting Accountants: “Changing from compliance dominance to business advisory services.”

Our suggestion is that you select the clients to which you believe you can add value, and offer to undertake advisory work for them. For your other very small clients, you could sell those clients to another firm, or you could outsource the work. This will enable you to free up time to be able to offer a new range of services to business clients.

A key question is what do you want to do with your working life?

Assisting SMEs to grow by “scaling up their business” and using a wide range of your accounting skills will help them add value to their businesses.

Another key issue in this whole debate is that accountancy firms all over Australia are complaining about the difficulty in hiring and retention of talent.

Andrew Geddes, a well-known Accountancy Industry Guru, has indicated that the “talent shortage” is mainly affecting firms who are asking graduates to spend all of their time on taxation, whereas many accountants are seeking experience in a variety of tasks.

Business Advisory Services will supply your firm with a variety of tasks and will assist in “talent attraction and retention”.

There is only 43 days left to 30 June. Based on what has happened in previous years, if you do not make the decision to commit to offering Business Advisory Services in that 43 days, you most likely will not be able to do so for another year, and some of your clients could be in significant financial difficulties during that 12 month period because of challenging business conditions.

This has been discussed further on our latest podcast episode. Click here to listen.
