The report surveyed 500 small business operators and asked them to rate their accountants based on the level of services they were receiving.

Only 15% of surveyed SMEs said their accountant met this standard.

The Perception Gap

In a separate 2025 survey conducted by a highly experienced Chartered Accountant, accountants themselves estimated that 80% of their clients would rate them very highly.

So which is it?

✅ Or is the real number closer to 15%?

Unless those surveyed accountants were exclusively in that top 15%, there is a significant perception gap between what firms believe they deliver and what clients actually experience.
