The recent white paper from Thomson Reuters identified that “the past has no future” should be the new mantra for SMEs.
“In 2023 and beyond, turning the focus to strategies that can bring growth to revenue and profit is key for SMEs.”
The challenge for accountants is to understand the challenges confronting SMEs which can include:
- Cash is tight
- Costs are increasing in many activities above inflation
- An appreciation that businesses must grow to survive – otherwise they won’t be in business.
- All businesses, no matter what sector, need to keep moving, to adjust and adapt to changing market conditions.
