Business Advisory Services Update

There are a lot of issues confronting business operators at present. High interest rates, supply chain difficulties, high inflation, staffing difficulties, to name a few.

Our suggestion is that you should have a “quality time” meeting with your client. Take them out for a coffee and have a discussion with them about their business concerns.

This is a very similar approach to what happens in larger businesses on a daily basis. The CEO and members of the leadership team, particularly with the CFO, have a discussion about the issues that are confronting the company.

Who does your SME client turn to?

The logical person is their accountant, because YOU are the person that knows significant details about the business operations.

Some of the questions that you might like to raise could include:

How is the business going?

What are your key concerns?

Will the current performance enable you to achieve your financial goals?

What is your debtors days outstanding?

Would you like a business plan prepared or your current plan updated to reflect 2023 conditions?

Have you concerns about your suppliers? Have you considered trying to identify some alternative suppliers?

Are you happy with your team or do you believe that there should be some more training in various aspects of management and leadership?

Are you concerned about your businesses funding?

ESS BIZTOOLS has developed the “SME Needs Analysis” to assist accountants and bookkeepers to be able to raise items which might be of concern to your client during your “quality time” meeting.
