EMDG applications for 2019/20 financial year must be lodged with Austrade by 30.11.20.
The EMDG aims to assist the development of exports by Australian firms. Eligibility applies to any Australian business entity type. To be eligible to make a claim, businesses must have spent at least $15,000 on eligible export marketing activities in 19/20.
If this is the first year a business has submitted an application, expenditure incurred in the previous financial year (2018/19) can be claimed together with the expenditure in 2019/20 to enable the applicant to exceed the minimum expenditure requirement of $15,000.
There are various categories of eligible expenditure with the maximum grant being $150,000.
Eligible expenditure categories for this grant include:
Overseas representation, marketing consultants, marketing visits, free samples, trade fairs and promotion events, promotional, literature & advertising, overseas buyers visits to Australia, registrations and/or insurance of eligible intellectual property.
