Are Your Clients Ready For Post COVID-19 Recovery
Accountant's Minute 250
There are still many challenges ahead for most small businesses and medium-sized enterprises. Many of your clients will have gained an appreciation of the extra services that you can provide to them following their first-hand experience of assistance from their accountants during COVID-19.
The big question now is are your clients ready for the post COVID-19 recovery?
There is still a long way to go to get the economy back to where it was in January this year when all of these problems started. Many of your clients are going to need assistance to be able to navigate the various challenges that will confront them.
In our final COVID-19 Survival Panel webinar for accountants being presented on Thursday, 5th November 2020 at 12-noon AEST (1.00pm AEDT) Andrew Geddes, Director, Andrew Geddes Pty Ltd, a former Chair of Greencross Ltd and a well-known Accountancy Industry Consultant, will ask the question “Is Your Business Culture Right for Post COVID-19 Recovery?” This question applies equally to accountants as it does to your small business and medium-sized enterprises.
The issues that Andrew will discuss include:
- Company culture shapes employee motivation and attitudes.
- Customer satisfaction is linked to positive workplace culture.
- Company processes that affect employee motivation.
- How to build your team sense of play, purpose and potential.
- How to build trust in your leadership.
The other presentation will be made by Amanda Gascoigne, Director, Amanda Gascoigne Consulting. The title of Amanda's presentation is “What Will Proactive Success Look like in 2021?”
Amanda is an experienced Chartered Accountant who now offers consultancy services to a range of accountancy firms in Australia and New Zealand.
Both of these presenters are going to be identifying issues that accountants should be very mindful of now as you undertake ongoing assistance to assist your clients to return to the level that they were at, prior to COVID-19 being identified in Australia.

The other speaker was Peter Towers, Managing Director, ESS BIZTOOLS, who identified some of the “back end tasks” that are integral to the preparation of accurate Budgets and Cashflow Forecasts for businesses including an analysis of sundry debtors, work in progress and inventory together with an understanding of arrangements with creditors and abiding by terms of trade.
