The art of ‘Delivering Advisory Services’ to SME clients is centred on open communication. Utilising ‘SME NEEDS ANALYSIS’ can assist with this.

The SME Needs Analysis, developed by ESS BIZTOOLS, is a series of ‘discussion points’ that you could raise with your client, to gauge whether there’s any interest and possibly submitting a proposal to your client for undertaking specific activities.

How’s Business?

Are you happy with your profit?

Is the cash flow okay?

Are the day-to-day activities satisfactory – changes needed?

Are you happy with department sales?

Gross profit percentage?

Stock levels?

Team member productivity?

Financial goals – is there need to improve?

Sales? Margins? Cash flow?

Do you need more information?

Daily – are you receiving the daily report?

Weekly – would a performance/profitability report which summarises all of the key data for the week and the profitability estimate be helpful for you?

Would an analysis of your monthly performance assist you to continue to operate a good business?

These are some of the follow-on discussion points that can emerge from utilising the ‘SME NEEDS ANALYSIS’, to assist Bookkeepers and Accountants to have meaningful conversations with your clients about their worries – their concerns, many of which you can probably fix for them to give them improved information so that they are able to concentrate on improving the business’ overall performance.
